Clear Career

Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 11 September 2026

These terms govern your use of Clear Career (this website and the app pages under it, together “Clear Career”, “the site”, “we” or “us”). By opening or using the site you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

Clear Career is currently run as an independent project, not a registered company. For anything in these terms, “we” means the person or people operating Clear Career, reachable at info@theclearcareer.com.

1. What Clear Career is

Clear Career is a free guide to career pathways after Class 10 and Class 12 for students and parents, built mainly around Karnataka’s education system. It maps streams, courses, entrance exams, eligibility rules, government job options and indicative salary ranges in plain language, and publishes the same material as a readable online book.

Clear Career is a free guide, not an authority. It does not admit students to any course, conduct any exam, decide anyone’s eligibility, or charge for any information on the site. Seats, fees, eligibility rules and exam dates are set and changed by the regulators, universities and exam bodies named on each page, not by us.

2. Who can use this site

Clear Career is written for students from Class 8 onwards and the parents deciding alongside them, so many people using it are minors. If you are under 18, we recommend using the site with a parent or guardian, particularly before creating an account or acting on anything here. Creating an account requires an email address; we do not knowingly collect more personal information from a child than an account needs.

3. Accounts

You do not need an account to read anything on Clear Career, including the full book and every pathway page. An account is only needed to sync saved paths and a roadmap across devices. You can create one with an email and password, with Google, or with a one-time sign-in link sent by email.

You are responsible for:

  • keeping your password confidential and not sharing your account;
  • the accuracy of the information you give us when creating or updating an account;
  • any activity that happens through your account once you are signed in.

We may suspend or remove an account that we reasonably believe is being used to abuse the site, in breach of Section 5 below, or to impersonate someone else.

4. Saved paths, your roadmap, and your data

Without an account, “My Saved Paths” is kept only in your browser’s local storage, on that one device. We never see it, and clearing your browser data or switching devices will lose it. Signing in moves this to your account so it is the same on every device, and adds a roadmap and a student profile (class, stream, district and language) that you fill in yourself.

We use this account data only to run the features you asked for — showing your saved paths and roadmap back to you, and letting a school or counsellor account you have explicitly joined see the profile you shared with them. We do not sell this data, and we do not use it to place students into courses or schemes; every application still goes through the official portal named on each page. You can delete your saved paths, roadmap items and account at any time from My Account.

5. Accuracy of information, and what this site is not

We verify facts against the regulator or authority named on each pathway — AICTE, NMC, DCI, INC, NCAHP, PCI, ICAR, VCI, NCVT, ICAI, ICSI, ICMAI, UPSC and KEA, among others — but course durations, eligibility, fees and seats change, and this site does not always catch a change the same day the regulator makes it.

Salary figures on Clear Career are indicative estimates, not published data from any employer or survey. Real starting pay is usually near the bottom of the range shown, sometimes below it. Outlook labels (such as “growing” or “stable”) are editorial assessments, not measured forecasts. Clear Career publishes no exam dates anywhere on the site, because they move every year; always confirm dates, fees, eligibility and seat availability on the conducting authority’s own official portal before you rely on them or act on them.

Nothing on Clear Career is professional career counselling, legal, financial or immigration advice. It is a starting map, meant to be read alongside the official sources it points you to — not a replacement for them.

6. Acceptable use

When using Clear Career, you agree not to:

  • scrape, bulk-download or systematically copy the site’s content in a way that places unreasonable load on it, or republish it as if it were your own work;
  • attempt to break, bypass or probe the site’s security or accounts;
  • use the site to harass, impersonate, or mislead another person;
  • upload or submit anything unlawful, or anything you do not have the right to share.

7. Intellectual property

The facts Clear Career reports — course names, eligibility rules, exam names, regulator requirements and the like — are public information and belong to no one. The way Clear Career writes, organises, illustrates and presents that information — its text, the book, its design and its code — belongs to Clear Career or its contributors. You are welcome to link to any page, share it, or quote it with attribution; you may not republish substantial parts of the site’s own writing as your own.

8. Links to other websites

Clear Career links out to official exam portals, regulator websites, scholarship portals and similar government or institutional sites so you can act on what you read. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their availability or how they handle your data once you leave Clear Career.

9. Changes to the service

Clear Career is under active development. We may add, change or remove features, content or pages at any time, and the site may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance. We will try to keep core information — pathways, exams and the book — stable and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

10. No warranty

Clear Career is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty that the site will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that the information on it is complete, current or accurate for your specific situation.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Clear Career and its operators are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or reliance on information on it — including a missed deadline, an incorrect eligibility assumption, or a decision made without confirming details on the relevant official portal. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site changes, for instance if we ever introduce paid features. We will update the “Last updated” date above when we do. Continuing to use Clear Career after a change means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these terms or your use of Clear Career.

14. Contact

Questions about these terms, or a request about your account or data, can be sent to info@theclearcareer.com.
