Diploma (Polytechnic)

Three years of practical engineering begun straight after Class 10, with no PUC in between. You can work at the end of it, or use lateral entry to join the second year of an engineering degree — arriving at the same destination as your PUC classmates, in the same total time, with three years of workshop and site experience they do not have. For a student who learns by doing, this is often the better road rather than the lesser one.
