You have finished PUC Science with PCMB

Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biology. The combination that keeps the most doors open — Biology qualifies you for NEET, Maths for KCET and JEE.

  • Medicine (MBBS) — NEET UG

What this choice closes. Without Biology you cannot sit NEET, so these are no longer open to you: Medicine (MBBS), Life Sciences, Veterinary Science, Dentistry, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Allied Health Sciences, AYUSH Medicine (BAMS / BHMS / BUMS / BSMS). This is the single most consequential subject decision a Karnataka student makes, and it is made at the end of Class 10 — which is why this book exists.

You have finished PUC Commerce

Several of the best destinations here are professional qualifications you register for directly, with no college seat to compete for.

You have finished an ITI trade course

The shortest route from Class 10 to skilled work — and it continues further than most families realise.

  • Work in your trade — National Trade Certificate

  • Diploma, second year — lateral entry at a polytechnic
  • Train to teach the trade — CITS at an ATI
  • Your own contracting or repair business — self-employment

You have finished a vocational NSQF course

Only NSQF-aligned courses carry national recognition and let you continue into further study. Confirm the alignment before enrolling anywhere.

What opens up

  • Work in the sector you trained for — NSQF certificate
  • A higher NSQF level in the same trade — skillindiadigital.gov.in
  • B.Voc degree — NSQF credit pathway
  • PUC or an ITI course, if you want to change direction — SSLC marks
